The 13th European Urban Resilience Forum (EURESFO) was held in Guimarães, Portugal, from 17 to 19 June 2026. The supplied event-page metadata says the next edition, EURESFO27, is “coming soon” and that official dates have not yet been announced; it does not identify a confirmed 2027 venue. 21
EURESFO is an annual European exchange platform launched in 2013 by ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and the European Environment Agency (EEA). It brings together city and regional representatives, experts, and stakeholders from local and regional institutions to discuss climate adaptation, disaster risk management, and urban resilience. 35 Its intended audience includes resilience practitioners and innovators, as well as organisations that support or provide resilience work. 3
The 2026 edition, co-organised with the City of Guimarães, centred on integrated approaches to climate resilience that go beyond adaptation. Its programme addressed people-centred and just resilience, governance and regulation, climate extremes, and practical tools—including financing, AI, and digital technologies. It also examined nature-based solutions, health and wellbeing, and the role of smaller and medium-sized cities in developing locally grounded responses. 46
The forum’s format is designed for exchange rather than slide-led presentations: the organisers describe it as informative, open, interactive, and “PowerPoint free.” Earlier editions have also used hybrid participation, as in 2021, when attendees unable to travel could join by livestream. 311 Coverage of the 2026 event highlighted the practical challenge of turning resilience plans into visible benefits for residents, including work on health, housing, nature-based solutions, and community participation. 8
